Doing the pyramids ride in style with my trusty @fairfaxandfavor Explorers. While these aren’t technically riding boots I can confidently say they are good to ride in.

These boots are good for everything, I’ve definitely put them through everything; desert rides, stick and ball practices, muddy walks in the woods, snow, sand, water, they keep my feet dry and cozy. And I’ve had them for 7 years I think. They still look great. Just a little PSA on the best boots I own.

I’ve been wanting to get back to polo for a whil

I’ve been wanting to get back to polo for a while. Years actually, I haven’t been consistent since 2019. Only some sporadic rides. I live in West Palm Beach and Wellington, the center of polo in the U.S. is 30 min away. I go there a lot to watch polo, but couldn’t seem to get my butt back in the saddle.

I found myself coming up with excuses for why I couldn’t that week, or simply forgetting to set it up so when the weekend came it was too late and I would say to myself “next weekend” but still not actually book or arrange it.

So why was it so easy to get it done while on vacation here in Cairo? I’ve pondered over this for a while and here’s my conclusion:

I realized I was scared. Scared of being bad (I was), scared of it hurting (it did), scared of feeling uncomfortable (I did). BUT even though I felt all the things I was scared of it was also amazing and liberating and felt so right and so good.

It was a new and exciting thing again because of the location. I could come up with lots of excuses of the club being too far and time consuming to go or something like that, but because it was a new place I was more motivated to go. I realize I love exploring the unknown.

This was a long way of saying: do the thing your soul is yearning for even when you are scared, especially when you are scared.

They were neck and neck in the first half against @valientepoloteam
As the divot stomping halftime was coming to an end the threatening clouds gave a downpour but that didn’t rain on La Dolfina’s parade who continued to dominate.

Adolfo Cambiaso got sent out to the penalty box for four minutes after a double yellow card and that gave the La Dolfina quad the advantage they wanted.

The final score was 12-9 and a grand victory for Poroto Cambiaso over his father.
