Some fun things are coming up and I am super excited to share it with you guys! So it obviously involves a lot of polo and a bit of flying as well, you know my usual #FlyingForALiving and #TravelingForPolo. In a few days I will be getting on a huge Emirates A380 heading to London! It is always fun being a passenger on Emirates and I hope I meet some of my ex-colleagues in the skies. I will be in...
The greatest part about being a boarding school kid is being part of an awesome community, like a great big family and that the friendships made in boarding school are for life.
I am so excited because Chestertons Polo in the Park is right around the corner, happening on 5th, 6th and 7th of June in Central London at the Hurligham Park in Fulham. This is really one of my favorite social polo events of the year, as I also mentioned in my post Polo for the People. My best friends and I have been there the past two years and we will be there this year again, which is so special, because...
Last week the USPA announced the polo handicap changes, including the most exciting one being Pablo Pieres Jr. “Polito” going up to 10 goals in outdoor polo. Polito was born in Connecticut and is therefore the first American player to receive a 10-goal handicap since Adam Snow in 2003 and is currently the only American 10-goaler. In my eyes he is more Argentinian than American, but his passport has the eagle on it so I guess that is what counts...
The US Open Polo Championship was held this past Sunday the 19th at the International Polo Club in Palm Beach, a highly anticipated day for polo fans everywhere being the last tournament of the US Triple Crown. For more info on the US Open check out my last post here and more about the sport of polo here. I had watched the 16 matches leading up to the finals on Chukker.TV from Bahrain and from Denmark, but I was lucky enough...
We are approaching the end of the prestigious US Open Polo Championships, the teams have battled out on the field during a total of 16 matches to now find the two finalists, favorites Orchard Hill will play against Valiente on Sunday 19th at 3 pm. For a simple description of the polo rules etc. go to my blogpost What is polo? In preparation for the final I have collected some stats and facts about the US Open: The International Polo Club...
It has been a while since my last post, because even though I sometimes forget it myself, I actually have a job. I am a stewardess on a private jet. I cannot disclose any information about who I work for and anything about our passengers or where we are going, but my thoughts about it all are mine and I can share them if I want. Being a stewardess was a dream of mine when I was a little girl....
I am determined to learn how to ride a horse properly and hopefully I can do it gracefully as well at some point. Once I have mastered that I can pick up a mallet and figure out how to control that as well
Today was a really good day, one of those days that make me feel inspired and motivated to get out of my comfort zone a little more often. I moved to Bahrain about two months ago and I have been such a hermit. My “daily” routine is just to go to my gym and the pool and in the evenings I stay in my apartment watching TV or polo online and reading and writing about polo. Every chance I got...
I am so happy that it has become more common to film and live-stream polo matches and drone filming is awesome as well. The whole US Open is shown on Chukker.tv and this is the schedule
There is so much good polo going on right now (well there always is) and I am on duty, I am not actually working, just sitting around in my apartment on standby. I mean I can’t complain and I love my job, but sometimes I really wish I could teleport myself to other places and back again in seconds, but until that is possible (one can dream) I will just watch polo online and keep updated through my favorite polo...
I am going to Florida, for the US Open Polo final and to visit my mom, stopping by Copenhagen for a few days on both ways to break up the trips and see friends and family there.
So my work and personal life synced beautifully and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon and evening on the grounds of the Ghantoot Polo and Racing Club in the company of the British Polo Day team and their 200 VIP guests.
Friday the 13th was the final of the Julius Bär Dubai Polo Gold Cup and it was an excellent day, which I had looked forward to for a long time. The weather was perfect, the company was great and the polo matches were fast and furious and very exciting. This was my third time attending this event in Dubai, which in my opinion is the highlight of the octal calendar and I hope to be able to come back every year....
