Chestertons Polo in the Park Final

Sunday is Family day at Chestertons Polo in the Park and the polo pitch was transformed by Sharky & George and Eddie Catz into a children’s wonderland for the Little Hooves Kids Club and a polo match on bouncy ponies. (we, of course, did not see this as we were slow in getting up Sunday morning after Saturday’s fun in the sun). We did make it just in time for the first match, and I put my GoPro on my...

Ladies Day at Chestertons Polo in the Park

Saturday is famously Ladies Day at Chestertons Polo in the Park and what a day it was. The park was packed with some 16.000 people ready to enjoy polo (and party) in the centre of London. The glorious sunshine definitely helped and inspired some gorgeous outfits. We spotted many florals and summer dresses, pastel colours and interesting sunglasses, it was a #MyPoloStyle party and everyone was invited! I have spotted a few on Instagram I felt needed mentioning here. I...

FIP Zone A Playoffs at International Polo Club Palm Beach

Sunday was a fun day. Full of polo. First I started off at Grand Champions, which you can read about here (will open in a new page so you can read it, when finished with this post). Then we all headed over to IPC for the final of the FIP (Federation of International Polo) Zone A playoffs. 23 polo players representing their respective countries of USA, Mexico and Guatemala had been training together for a month to compete for a...

USPA Eastern Challenge – La Indiana vs Dutta Corp

Sunday’s are for polo, we all know that. This past Sunday I headed up to Wellington to watch friends play against each other at Grand Champions Polo Club (where I had my first polo lessons). Playing for the final of the USPA Eastern Challenge was: 13 goal team Dutta Corp, with Tim and Timmy Dutta, Kris Kampsen and Piki Alberdi versus 17 goal team La Indiana/Clearwater, Chip Campbell, Michael Bickford, Ezequiel (Gallego) Ferrario Martinez and Jeff Hall.   I had...

113th US Open Polo Championship Final – Witnessing History in the making

The US Open Polo Championship is really one of the highlights of the international polo calendar, and definitely the crown jewel of the polo season in Wellington, Florida, USA. The championship has been played at the International Polo Club Palm Beach since 2004. I have been lucky enough to attend and witness the exciting final three years in a row now, and this year was definitely a nail-biter. (read the 2016 match here and the 2015 match here) The final...

Black Tie British Polo Day Abu Dhabi

I am loving this tradition of attending the British Polo Day in Abu Dhabi, this was my third year in a row, which now officially makes it a tradition. The first time was a happy coincidence of #FlyingForALiving and #TravellingForPolo where the two were combined. An unexpected work flight took me to Abu Dhabi for a mere 24 hours, just enough to attend the BPD event and fly on. Last year I was in Dubai on holiday, so it was...

The Julius Baer Gold Cup 2017

The Dubai Polo Gold Cup is one of the highlights of the winter season in Dubai, and especially exciting to me. I have attended the tournament games and the final every year since I moved to Dubai for the first time, over 5 years ago. The first 3 years I was simply an enthusiastic spectator, enjoying the amazingly smooth and elegant operations of a day packed with entertainment. Last year I volunteered to help on the final day, just to...

Chatting on the Polo Side Lines with Angie Pedreira

I had the pleasure of catching up with Angie Pedreira, Nico Pieres’s other half, and their adorable son Felix, on the polo sidelines and we had a good chat about the world of Angie. *For those of you who don’t know who Nico Pieres is (in case you have been living under a rock with no polo info whatsoever). He is the youngest of the Pieres clan, the 10 goal prodigies. Nico was recently raised to a 10 goal...

A Week in my Dubai Polo Life

The week here in Dubai starts on Sunday, so whilst my Instagram feed is full of cozy images of lazy #sundaze and polo antics, I am in fact at my desk by 8 am and have a full inbox screaming at me. Sundays always just pass by in a total haze of busy. So many e-mails, meetings and plans and just a long to-do list to get the week going. Some day I will tell you guys exactly what I do...

Julius Baer Gold Cup – Dubai Polo Open Draw

Monday, February 6th was one of the big days in my job, as social media and marketing executive at Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club. It was the press conference and live draw for our most important tournament, The Julius Baer Gold Cup 2017. I have been to many press conferences before, in several different capacities, but this one was a new one for me. I have sat were the reporters were sitting, taking pictures and noting all the important...

La Patrona – a Mexican Polo Adventure

This is a guest blogpost by my lovely friend Larissa Esser. Larissa and I met and immediately bonded whilst staying at Polo Valley in Sotogrande this summer. We share the same passion for polo, travel and new adventures! Larissa is also at novice level, although having ridden horses since she was 7 years old, she only started with polo two years ago and tries to find time in her busy work and travel schedule for polo. Even if it means...

Copa de Oro Cartier Final Polo in Sotogrande

On Sunday August 28th, a full crowd at Santa Maria Polo Club witnessed the culmination of two weeks of intense polo battles when the two greats Dubai and Ayala met at cancha 3 to fight for the coveted Gold Cup Trophy. These athletes had been competing against each other throughout the year in different countries and continents and will next see each other in Argentina, a country most of the top polo players call home. Dubai: Rashid Albwardy 2, Alejo...

Semifinals at Santa Maria Polo Club

Yesterday was a day of tumultuous excitement at the Santa Maria Polo Club in Sotogrande, where the teams had to give it their all to win in their respective games and thus make it on to the finals of the Cartier Polo Gold Cup this Sunday, August 28th. The first match saw Ayala (Iñigo Zobel 0, Jack Hyde 3, Facundo Pieres 10, Nicolas Pieres 9) play against Brunei (Bahar Jeffri 1, Pablo McDonough 10, Josh Cork 1, David “Pelon” Stirling...

Polo Valley – Living a Polo Dream

When Polo Valley invited me to come and experience the Residential Polo Course in order to review it I was ecstatic and over the moon! I had been eyeing their Instagram account and daydreaming of the beautiful place for a while, so when the opportunity arose I was on a plane to Malaga immediately. I arrived at Polo Valley in Sotogrande this past Sunday, and immediately felt at home. Everyone here is so welcoming and friendly and the settings are just gorgeous. Alvaro,...

British Polo Gold Cup Final VIP Lunch

Sunday July 17th was an exciting day for all polo lovers in the UK, it was the final of the Jaeger- LeCoultre Gold Cup, the British Open. I woke up early, with that anticipatory feeling of excitement in the pit of my stomach… my friends on the La Indiana team were in the final and they were up against the defending champions of last year: The King Power Foxes. These two powerful teams had been up against each other a...
